Police probe bugging at Sascoc’s Olympic House

Police are investigating sensational claims of “covert” bugging at the office of South Africa’s Olympic sports body, Sascoc, and at the home of its chief executive, Tubby Reddy.

Reddy was suspended over allegations of sexual harassment this week throwing wide open the extent of the war within the organisation with its president Gideon Sam seemingly at the centre of it.

The M&G has obtained a copy of an investigative report compiled by risk management company, SS Griffin, which lifts the lid on an alleged highly sophisticated bugging operation uncovered at Olympic House in Houghton, Johannesburg.

“The team reported that they detected active devices transmitting and receiving over the global system for mobile communication (GSM), 4G and Bluetooth.” the report said.

“They noted that the devices were mainly on the second floor…the executive offices would seem to be the focus of the surveillance, notably the section that the CEO Mr Tubby Reddy and his staff occupy.”

*A full report will go up on the M&G website once all parties have been contacted for comment.
